Month end.
That about says it all. Work. Stress. Achy shoulders from work/stress.
Today we picked five ripe tomatoes and two hot peppers from the garden. We've got at least another half dozen ripening tomatoes on the one plant, and the other plant has lots of big green tomatoes on it but nothing ripe yet. Ralph is making salsa out of today's harvest, which also included some tomatillos. The bell pepper isn't ripe yet, but as you can see from the photo it's well on its way.

After the All-iday
The party went well yesterday, I think. Had over a dozen people show up which is more than I expected. People really kept to the theme of tying their potluck contributions to a holiday. Some of my favorites were fresh tomatoes & green peppers (Procrastinator's Day; she put off actually making the salsa); turkey franks & challah (Challah-weenie); and pulled pork (which Terry Pratchett fans will immediately associate with Hogswatch Night). The ground-slap game (see below if you are unfamiliar with this) was popular & people seemed to like the prizes. They were: a "Schoolhouse Rock" DVD (won by DN); a set of scented candles (won by M from Faire); a Boyd's Bear figurine (won by W from Faire); a smores ornament (won by The Boy); a Halloween-lantern votive holder (won by MH2); and a Mancala set (won by R from Ralph's work).
Today of course will in theory be cleanup, but knowing me the decorations are going to be up for another week or two. LOTS of food left over--Sis, you forgot to take home your pasta salad--including a frozen lasagna that we bought in case there wasn't enough food, and the cream puffs that I totally forgot to put out. Guess I know what will be served at Ralph's next D & D game.
So, the ground-slap game is fun but kind of hard to describe. A group of people kneel on the floor or lawn in a circle. You put your hands on the ground crossed with the hands of the people next to you. So, if you had "Jane" on your left and "John" on your right, looking in front of you the hands you would see would be your own to the far left, then Jane's right hand, John's left hand, and then your own right hand. Got it? OK. Then you choose a person to start & a direction to go (clockwise or widdershins). For purposes of this explanation, we'll say that you are starting & it goes widdershins. You slap the ground with your left hand, then Jane would slap with her right, then John with his left, then you again with your right, and so on around the circle. BUT!! If a person slaps the ground twice, the direction changes, so it could go your left, Jane's right, John's left *twice*, Jane's right, your left. If you slap when you aren't supposed to (or even start to do so) or hesitate too long when it's your turn, or slap with the wrong hand, that hand gets taken out of the game. You tighten the circle & re-cross as people are eliminated until only two people remain, who are the winners. It's easy in theory, but harder in reality as you lose track of which hand is yours, or anticipate slapping only to have the direction change. Here's a short video of the final round of our game. The contestants are MH2, The Boy, and W from Faire:
Actually, it just occurred to me that a better use for the frozen lasagna & cream puffs (which I keep typing as "pussfs") would be to feed the folks who will be helping out with the haunted house this year.

All-iday Eve
Almost have everything ready for the party. A bit of general cleaning--vacuuming & the like--wrap the prizes, pick up the food & that's about it. Found out that RB & MB won't be able to come after all, however Moon & MH2 are bringing some friends. I think it will be a good party.
Had good food at the "Fun Friday" potluck at work today. Once again I didn't bother to watch the movie (Revenge of the Sith, yawn) although I did partake of the luncheon. I just took my food to the kitchen & read while I ate, then took a short walk. The picture of the squirrel was taken during that walk; the other picture is the view from my office window & was taken yesterday. Anyway, VT brought some yummy Chex snack mix made with corn syrup, coconut & cashews; H whose last name I can never remember brought homemade spicy artichoke dip and some chips; CK made hot wings; plus there were some non-homemade goodies such as KFC chicken & sides, sushi, and those rolled-up sammidges. It was all very tasty.
Survivor was very good last night, although I'm sure Sis has posted all about it so I won't reiterate it here. I will say, though, that I think the guy I picked is going to do really well, and that I'm sooooo glad that they voted off the ones that they did.

Irony
So today's "Wellness Wednesday" e-mail at work was about how to eat more healthily at the office. One of the tips was to stock the snack room with fruit, yogurt, etc. The snack supply at work was also restocked today. With soda, chocolate, bubble gum, hard candies. . .
Sent out a reminder e-mail for the All-iday to those that I wasn't sure were going to come. Got a few more positive responses, yay! I'm both looking forward to it and wishing it were over, but I definitely feel more "up" about it now that I have more "yes, we'll be there"s.
Gonna be busy tomorrow. Ralph didn't shop today (hurt his back helping to move & install a jacuzzi) so I'll have to pick up some items tomorrow such as dog food & the ingredients to make the corn casserole for the potluck at work. then I have to make the corn casserole, since I probably won't have time before work on Friday. Think I'll go to a different store than usual; maybe they'll have some items that I can use and/or serve at the All-iday. And of course there's also the 2-hour Survivor premier!

Now THAT takes a lot of nerve!!
Ralph had an appointment today with Dr. Makes You Wait 12 Hours. It was for 1:30. Ralph got there at 1:40. He was told that he was too late; Dr. MYW12H had *left* because there were no patients. Mind you, the normal wait time in his office *with an appointment* is 2-3 hours, and he couldn't wait 15 minutes, or even call to see if Ralph was on his way before walking out the door? RIDICULOUS!!!

IDDD
So what is IDDD? It's International Dumb Driver Day, which must have been today judging by the number of idiots on the road this morning. Saw a pick-up almost hit the k-rail as he attempted to not miss his exit (he was unsuccessful in that attempt, but had to make a violent swerve back into the lane to avoid the k-rail). Then less than 3 minutes later saw two cars nearly collide as they both decided to merge into the same lane (both were signaling, but I guess they weren't really paying attention to each other), then within 5 minutes of that saw two other cars pull the same stunt. Then I was in a 20-minute traffic jam caused by an overturned semi. Didn't look like anyone was seriously injured in that, thank goodness, but the spilled load was blocking a couple lanes & really backed things up.
Found a couple more items for the upcoming All-iday party. Got six American flags for only fifty cents apiece at the grocery store, then today got some of those yummy peanut butter taffy pieces that you can only get at Halloween. OK, as far as I know Sis & I are the only two people on the planet who actually like these, but what the heck. Doesn't look like we're going to have a huge crowd, but that's OK.
Hmm, just remembered we are having a potluck at work on Friday. Maybe I'll make some Kitchen Wall Corn Casserole (no, it isn't made with a wall; I got the recipe off the wallpaper in the kitchen of a friend's house). The advantage to this is it tastes good at any temperature--hot out of the oven, cold out of the fridge, or anywhere in between.

Setting up for the Alliday
Had a fine day yesterday starting to set things up for next week's Alliday party. Sis came over (she's objected to the "big" saying that she knows she's older and just how many sisters do I have anyway?) and helped with it. First we went shopping for prizes & I think we found some pretty good ones. Then back to the house to put up decorations. We ran into a few problems there--couldn't find all the boxes of decorations for one, plus we have so much *shtuff* in our house already that we couldn't find places to put things. Fortunately we have lots of holiday-related items up year-round that it looked sort of decorated before we even started. Then we drove all over town (and then some) looking for a good party-supply store to get some plates, cups, & a few more decorations. Didn't find much that wasn't for Halloween, so we got plain red large plates & plain blue small ones which I'll match up with white forks & spoons for a patriotic theme, then we got Happy Birthday cups, fall-themed big napkins, and Halloween-themed small napkins. We also bought some Mexican-themed table decorations which will work for Cinco de Mayo.
As a thank you, I took Sis to lunch at (where else?) Johnny Reb's. It was her first time there & I think she enjoyed it. We both had (what else?) the pulled pork with double mac-a-chee, except I had hush puppies & she had corn bread. Very tasty as always, and I've got enough left for my breakfast today.
Today I think I'll dig around in the garage some more & see if I can't find the other boxes. I really need to find the Easter eggs so we can have an Easter egg hunt. If they don't show up though I will get some Halloween treat bags & we can hide those instead.

Arr! Talk Like a Pirate Day Be Here!
T'day be "Talk Like a Pirate" Day. I hopes all ye scurvy dogs be participatin'.
Rafe did much swabbin' o' the decks yesterday, which were right' pleasin' to me. Still a bit o' work to do as he were mostly movin' boxes an' bookcases an' other heavy objects. So's Big Sis an' I won't be havin' too much o' the cleanin' and can focus on the decoratin' fer the swar-ree. That's Frenchy talk for "party," ya knows.

Ralph? Ralph who?
Boy, I've hardly gotten to see Ralph at all the past couple days. He came home exhausted on Monday & went straight to bed; saw him for a bit after work yesterday. He had trouble sleeping last night, and after getting up & reading for a few hours he finally came back to bed around 4:00, so I was careful not to wake him when I got up. Didn't see him at all before I left for work, then when I got home tonight he was just walking out the door to go see Dr. Wait 12 Hours Before You Are Seen (his appointment was at 4:00 but they told him to come back at 7:00). Apparently he (Ralph) hurt his back this afternoon reaching across the table to move the tablecloth. He's working this weekend, too, so I don't see us getting much more time together before next weekend. Sigh.
While I was at lunch today, a Northern Mockingbird landed in the tree next to my car. I was actually able to take the camera out of my purse & snap three photos before he flew away. This one came out the best.
Someone has been throwing rawhide chew toys over the fence. I think it might be the guys that are helping get Neighbor David's house ready for sale. Unfortunately, one or more dogs has been swallowing them in big chunks, and I have found several piles of dog sick in the backyard. Totally gross, plus I'm worried the dog(s) may choke on the rawhides. I pick them up when I find them, but obviously the dogs have gotten to some before I did.

Dull Tuesday
More County Fair pictures, because other than getting my own printer at work nothing interesting happened today, and Survivor doesn't start for another 9 days.
Part of the Hawaiian-themed indoor display of gardens. While the flowers & all were pretty, this was really the only thing that caught my eye.
Yum, turkey legs!! I did think that it was a bit cruel, though, to have this set up directly in line-of-sight with some caged live turkeys outside the barn area. On the other hand, what a great opportunity to teach kids where meat comes from. "See that big birdy, son? You're eating his mommy's leg." Heh heh heh. . .
Loved this little goat stealing hay from the neighboring calves. The calves didn't seem to care, really.
No, not curly fries, but a display of toy snakes being given as prizes at one of the game booths.
Lastly, this is a front view of the carousel horse I posted previously. Is that not the skinniest head you have ever seen?

OMG, please please please say it's a joke. . .
Nope, not one of my knitting projects, but one of the winners at the LA County Fair. Isn't it cute? I think I might actually carry a purse like that. . .
This is either a really funny joke, or the world's stupidest woman. I'm not sure which. Watch & decide for yourself. Make sure you have your sound on. EDIT: I'm having difficulty getting the hyperlink into my post; you may have to copy & paste it into your browser.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_c6HsiixFS8
In other news, I learned again why it sucks to have to share a printer. Right now all my printouts go to the copier, as do the printouts of about half the people in my office. The copier does NOT separate the documents; they all print to the same tray. Today I printed up a sheet, finished a couple other items for the file (took me maybe a minute), then went to get my printout. Nothing there. As I muttered to myself, "I'm sure I printed it. . . " one of my co-workers pulled my document *out of the trash can* and asked, "Is this what you're looking for?" Gah! It's bad enough that people inadvertently take each others' documents because they get mixed together, but to throw one away because it's not yours? Ridiculous!!
Sadly, that's all I've got for today.

LA County Fair
Had a very good day out at the LA County Fair today. First stop was the home & garden section, which was a bit disappointing in that there were no really nice pond setups as there have been in the past. However, there were some very lovely gardens (many with a Hawaiian theme) and a few water gardens which we very much enjoyed seeing. One of my favorites is the photo here, with the little gnome on the log with the pineapple plant. He really blended in with the garden; even when I pointed directly over its head Ralph didn't see it at first.
The animal area, of course, was a "must see." Quite a few newborn lambs--with umbilical cords still dangling--were wobbling around on knock-kneed legs while their mothers watched complacently. There were lots of rabbits too, including a pair of Continental Giants. One was 4 months old & weighed 12 pounds; the other was 8 months & 24 pounds. They were already larger than the "regular" adult rabbits in the enclosure. There were also some watusi cattle with huge, huge horns & some Jacob sheep with their four horns apiece. Couldn't really get a good photo of the Jacob; one had its back to me the whole time, and the other would either be positioned in such a way that I couldn't get a clear head shot, or else he would be moving around so much that the photo came out all blurry. I do have a short video on my Flickr account though.
The home crafts section was, as always, a favorite for me. Ralph was footsore by the time we got there, so he sat & read his book while I looked around. The fish you see here was part of a lovely embroidery of two Japanese style fish in a small waterfall. Absolutely wonderful, and well-deserving of the "Best of Show" ribbon it won. There was also a shawl that I really liked, although it was poorly displayed (hanging in a back corner, all rumpled up instead of spread out) so I was not able to get a good picture. It was a really nice lacework in a variegated ocean-blue/green color. However, I do have to question some of the awards, such as the second-place given to a beautiful black knit dress with long sleeves, a cabled yoke, and cables down the front & sleeves. Too much glare on the display case prevented a good picture, but if you could see it I'm sure you would agree it should have taken first.
The novelty cake section was MUCH more impressive than the one at the Orange County Fair earlier this year, which consisted of a mere three cakes. This display had about a dozen very creative entries, including a cake shaped like an old-time radio; one made to look like a plate of spaghetti (complete with chocolate "meatballs" and raspberry "pasta sauce"); and this one here: an LA Dodgers baseball cap. Yup, believe it or not, that photo is of a cake. Isn't it great?
We didn't go on any rides, although I did admire the carousel. They had lots of horses of course, and a few more unusual merry-go-round critters such as a tiger and a boar (or as Ralph called it, a "pig-horse" since it was on a carousel plus the feet really did look more like a horse's hooves than a pig's trotters). We watched some kids on a spinning ride, and one of them definitely did NOT look happy: closed eyes, head down, lips tightly pressed together. I suspect he may have had a bit too much funnel cake and frozen lemonade before going on the ride.
Speaking of food, they didn't have quite the usual assortment of fried everything. I did see a sign for "cream cheese on a stick" (a slab of cream cheese dipped in corn-dog batter & deep-fried) and a "beef sundae" which judging from the photo is a bowl of mashed potatoes (at least I hope it was mashed potatoes) topped with shredded BBQ beef & a red pepper on top. Despite my usual vow to splurge on all kinds of junk food delights, we really didn't buy much: a pulled pork sandwich each (both of us pretty much just ate the pork & threw the bland, overly-porous bread away), a frozen lemonade that we split (and even then didn't finish), and then Ralph had a beer. Not bad considering how good everything smelled: turkey legs, ribs, corn dogs, funnel cake, grilled beef & chicken, waffle cones and sausages. Yum!

At least I got SOME housework done
Had a great big "honey do" list for myself today, and only got a few of them done. Started some laundry (still need to hang it up), got Sadie's vet records transferred to our name, washed the dishes, vacuumed the rug (although you wouldn't know it to look at it now, since the dogs have been on it all day) and that's about it.
Did do a bit of spinning, or rather plying. I had a partial bobbin of that froo-froo blue that I didn't like very much, and a partial bobbin of ivy green merino that I had almost forgotten about. Plied them together & got about 180 yards of stripey yarn. Now to decide what to make with it. . .
Oh, big freakin' help!
I found dozens of these weird little critters on my tomatillo plant today. I suspect this is the reason why not one lantern has matured to a ripe fruit. Anyway, I took a sample of them to the local nursery hoping they could tell me what they are. The clerk said it was some sort of larva (well DUH! Even I knew that much!!) and recommended a particular insecticide. She went to the back to get it and also to ask someone else what they were. When she came back, she said he had told her what they were, but that it was "some long name that I can't repeat." Gee, how informative and helpful! I did finally manage to find out from her that they are "some sort of moth." Wish I knew a good entomologist. In any case, I bought an insecticide that is safe to use on food plants & this should take care of the problem. Still wish I knew exactly what they are, though. Maybe I can track it on whatsthatbug.com.

Ready for the weekend
Made a new LOL today. I don't actually think it's all that funny, however I loved the photo and had to do SOMEthing with it! Here it is:
moar funny pictures
In other news, I was reading my Spin Off at lunch, and came across an interesting typo in one of the advertisements. It was for a company that sells exotic fibers. Three of them--tencel, sea cel, and latte--are made from the by-products of non-fiber materials (wood, seaweed & milk), only the ad said they were "bi-products." Thought that was pretty funny.
Nothing much else to post. Sunday should be better since Ralph & I will probably go to the LA County Fair that day so I'll have some interesting bits (I hope!). This is our only chance since he works tomorrow and all of next weekend, I work during the week, and it ends on the 22nd.

Tired & glad it's Friday
Well, looks like Big Sis failed to post last night too. Glad to know I'm not the only slacker.
Discovered yesterday that "Kitchen Nightmares" comes on at 9:00, not 8:00 which means that it won't interfere with "Survivor." Unfortunately, it's hard for me to stay up until 10:00, especially on a work night, but I managed it yesterday. Of course that means I'm very tired today.
Found out also that Ralph is working next weekend. I am going to be taking Big Sis up on her offer to help get the house ready for the party since he won't be here to assist. Mind you, I'll be getting some stuff done this weekend: putting up some of the decorations, buying the prizes & getting them wrapped, and the like. And of course housecleaning.

a quick post before bedtime
Thought I'd post pictures of my current project: a cabled cell phone cozy. Unfortunately the cabling doesn't show up too well in the photos. A phone cozy may sound silly, but my neck & shoulders ache all the time, and I'm sure part of it is from hauling my heavy backpack/tote/purse all over creation. This way I can leave the heavy bag in the car, and just take the essentials with me into the office: cell phone, key card, car remote, and maybe a couple bucks.
Had a horror of horrors! situation today. When we first got the parakeets, the open package of food looked weird, like it had poo in it or something, so we opened up the other bag to compare & it was the same. Reading the ingredients we discovered it has dried fruit in it, and that's what we were seeing. Anyway, we used up the old food and today when I re-opened the other bag at least a half-dozen clothes moths flew out of it!!! I stared dumbstruck for a moment at the others climbing up the sides of the package, then slapped the bag shut again. It is now re-sealed and in the trash. Ralph suggested freezing it or microwaving it to kill the moths, but I just want it OUT of my house. I don't understand how they got in there, since we had re-sealed the bag (it had a ziploc top)and it's been sealed all this time. Could it have been infested at the packaging plant? UGH!!

Just a bit over two weeks. . .
. . . and Survivor Gabon starts! Guess Big Sis isn't reading my blog anymore since she hasn't commented on my choice of "who's gonna win."
Didn't feel like packing lunches, so I gave Ralph the one I packed for RB (still owe him lunch now) and went to Arby's for my own. Had the Italian Sub which is very bad for me but very tasty so there.
OH! Guess what? We've got fry in the aquarium again. Must have been born today as I didn't see them when I fed & medicated this morning. They are in the big tank with the adults so chances are good they will be eaten soon. I always hope they'll make it . . . maybe I'll move them to the hospital tank, since we're treating the big tank for ick & I don't think the medicine will be good for newborns.

Monday, lovely Monday
Today was a good day at work. Got a lot done & the time went by really quickly. We're pushing hard to close about 25 houses in the next two weeks, which I must admit has me a bit worried. If we close everything this month, what's left?? I hope I'm not working myself out of a job here.
For dinner tonight Ralph grilled up some flank steak that Moon & MH2 had brought yesterday (we didn't cook it yesterday because MH2 wanted to go out instead), and some corn on the cob to go with it. We also had some sourdough bread that Moon & MH2 had brought. As the Teeming Millions are aware, they both work at Disneyland, and the bread they brought came from Disney's California Adventure. Today's picture is of the bread.
Having lost the "final closings number" pool last month, I'm supposed to take RB (the winner) out to lunch at some point. However, I don't even take myself out to lunch anymore so I'm bringing him a packed lunch tomorrow: leftover flank steak sliced thin; a hunk of the sourdough bread; a Twinkie; an orange; and some goldfish crackers. Not exactly a trip to Red Lobster, but there you have it.

Getting ready
Today our friends Moon & MH2 came over to help work on the haunted house. The Manly Men put together the last few walls while MH2 & I did the painting. We also tested the web-sprayer which makes some lovely cobwebs. Afterward working on the walls we went to the local Indian restaurant for dinner (delicious as always!).
Ralph spent most of yesterday clearing out the red room, putting up some shelves & moving the books out of the old stand-up bookcases and onto the new shelving. The goal is to make the room usable & comfortable instead of just the cluttered disaster that it usually is. Plus, now that the books are in single rows rather than stacked two-deep in the cases we can see what we've got. Came across quite a few that I haven't read in a long time, which means I won't be spending money at the bookstore for a while.
Well, that's about it I'm afraid. Looks like Big Sis has a new post so I'm off to read her blog.

And she says MY blog is dull. . .
In a case of the pot calling the kettle black, Big Sis commented recently that my posts have not been sufficiently entertaining. Well, at least I'm posting; HER most recent entry is from two days ago. Hmph.
Went to cbs.com and picked out my Survivor guy: Bob. He's a physicist, and there's just something Gilligan's Island-ish about having a smart guy amongst all the mundanes. I also have my choice for the one whom I want to see voted off first: Randy. His bio makes him seem like a total jerk and I suspect he's going to be annoying to watch.
Had a VERY lazy day today. I think I might be getting a cold or something; my joints have been achy & I was sleepy all day. Even took a nap in the afternoon but it didn't help much. It's not even 7:00 pm & I'm thinking of going to bed.
Have discovered another show that I like: Kitchen Nightmares. This brings the grand total of Shows I Like to two, the other of course being Survivor. For those among the Teeming Millions who may be unfamiliar with the program, chef Gordon Ramsey goes to failing restaurants & gives them advice on how to improve (and in the case of one restaurant on this week's episode--shut down the kitchen and called in a disinfection squad, just because he found rat droppings, spoiled food, and about 12 billion cockroaches in the food prep area. Oh, and one of the chefs dropped a piece of food on the floor, picked it up & put it back in the fryer. He said the hot oil would clean it "enough"). It's like a cross between Julia Childs and Jerry Springer. Anyway, I really enjoy it so of COURSE it airs Thursdays at eight. Sigh. Just going to have to figure out how to record shows on the VCR I guess.

First Friday of September
Well, it appears I misunderstood. LN is being transferred, but to homeowner services, so if he does "take over" one of my communities it will be in that capacity. Darn, he won't have to work with E-1 :-)
Moon is over working with Ralph on the haunted house for Halloween. They worked on the walls a bit, and on a laser vortex, plus they plotted out some ideas for the layout. Should be a good one this year.
I'm really enjoying "The Excalibur Murders." Good storyline, interesting characters, bit of humor. Hope the rest of the series (when it gets written) is as good.
Sorry Sis, you'll have to get your entertainment somewhere else 'cause that's all I've got for today.
Quick update
Some of my communities at work are "re-phasing" their homes (eg, some of the homes in phase release 5 are now in phase release 8, etc). As I was entering the changes, I suddenly realized why I've been having so much elbow pain recently. The desk in my office is too high, and I have to have my arm in an awkward position. I tried raising my chair but couldn't get it to move & ended it up trading it out for an unused chair that was already set higher. We shall see if that helps.
Part of the phase changes also include changes to the release dates, moving the start & release dates out. This is both bad & good, I think. Bad, because it means fewer homes available at any given time; good, because it means homes available over a longer period of time.
One other change: LM is being moved out of the office & into the field. Again, better to transfer someone than lay them off. I think he is going to ask if he can take over a couple of my communities since he doesn't have as large a backlog. Oooh, I just realized, if he does that he'll have to start using E-1. That should be interesting as he hasn't used it yet.
Had a pleasant surprise last night. Ralph didn't want to cook so he ordered a pizza. When it was delivered, Zoe started barking like crazy--in the front yard! Apparently Ralph had left the gate open & all three dogs got out. Zoe & Hali were in the front yard and came right into the house when called. Sadie was nowhere to be seen. I went out to look for her, called her name a few times, and shock of shocks she came trit-trotting up to me! This is a far cry from the dog that only a few weeks ago would have been running all over creation & would have taken 45 minutes or more to catch. Of course I praised the heck out of her, gently led her into the house, and gave her a couple dog treats.
Last night CE asked for my blog address. Don't know if she's planning on becoming one of the Teeming Millions or not. In any case, if you are reading this: Hi, CE!!
Oooh, also almost forgot: my "ceiling dog" LOL made it into the upcoming cue on LOL Dogs!

Gottem!
Lizard
Didn't get to post last night because SOMEone was hogging the brainsucker. No matter. Nothing interesting happened, except once again I saw a baby lizard at work and once again I didn't have the camera. So I'm posting a photo of the baby lizard I saw at Whittier Narrows. Maybe something interesting will happen today.

Two in the queue!
TWO of my LOLs made it into the voting queue at I Can Has Cheezburger (LOL dogs). I've never seen any of mine in the lineup before so it was a big--and pleasant--surprise to see them there. These are the ones:

End of the holiday weekend. Sigh.
Another good, if quiet day. Re-started my cell phone cozy using a different yarn; it's coming out a lot better than the first one & I don't think I'll have to frog it. We took the GG's to the dog park. Sadie behaved really well, much better than we anticipated. It's her first time ever going there (Neighbor D never took her) and I think she enjoyed herself. Then a quick trip to the bookstore where I bought two books (and yes, we parked in the shade, had the windows open, had a bowl of water for the dogs, AND Ralph waited in the car with them): "Knitting Bones" which is the latest in the Monica Ferris needlecraft series, and "The Excalibur Murders," first in a new series in which the crime solver is Merlin, with the help of his assistant Colin (who is really the maiden Nimue in disguise, according to the back of the book). I had a 30% off one item coupon plus $5 in Border Bucks, which means I pretty much got one book for free. Now I'm kind of thinking along the lines of dinner--better bring the topic up soon or Ralph will kill his appetite with all the snackies he seems to be munching on. . .
